Inaugural Litter Pick!
Huge thanks to all who came along today to our first Liberton Association litter pick!
We cleared the area around Liberton Medical Centre and made a sweep across St Katharine’s Park, picking up a huge variety of litter and fly-tipping. Members of the Liberton and District Community Council and the Friends of St Katharine’s park joined us to complete the job! Great work everyone
Highlights of our haul included an electric fire and its surround, a yoga mat, two laptop computers, and several metres of heavy duty cable. More worrying, large canisters of laughing gas and empty packets of sedative and narcotic drugs.
Again, thanks to the team of volunteers who turned up and made a significant difference to the area, which is much improved after the clean-up.
Our next litter pick will be (hopefully) on the 4th March. Preliminary location is in the fields below Braid Hills Drive, where a large amount of litter and fly-tipping has been identified. More details later, but new volunteers always welcome!
